Georgina Agyei

Biography

Gina is a physician from Ghana. Her research uses immunological, genetic, and cell biology assays and microscopic techniques to understand the interaction between the fungi, Cryptococcus neoformans, and host alveolar macrophages, the first line of immune defense. Her interests include promoting women in STEM, and as such, she is serving as the vice president for AWIS-ND for the 2024/25 academic year. Her hobbies include reading novels and listening to music. In the long term, she plans on doing translational research on vaccines in Sub-Saharan Africa.
