Nirjhar Bhattacharyya

Nirjhar is a 3rd year graduate student co-advised by Dr. Ferdig and Dr. Mukherjee. His research investigates the autophagy gene atg18 for its role in drug resistance. Using knock-sideways technology, he is assessing putative mutants of this candidate to see changes in resistance phenotype. He is also working on Illumina whole-genome sequencing, variant calling of Bangladesh samples, and bulk segregation analysis.
