Environmental Science

Graduation year: 2025

Hometown: Claremont, CA

Dorm: Welsh Family Hall (now off-campus!)

Email address: treisch@nd.edu

Major(s)/Minor(s): Environmental Sciences Major, Earth Sciences minor, History minor

Research: I am in the Stream and Wetland Ecology Lab researching the effects of PFAS on stream ecosystem function.

Post-graduation plans: Graduate school

Favorite Biology/ES course: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Vertebrate Biology

Extracurriculars: Sustainability Department of StuGov, Museum of Biodiversity Student Worker, Climbing Club, Gardening

Advice for First-Year Biology/ES majors: I know this seems a little biased, but show up to SLC events to meet people in the major! It can be difficult to find each other in the huge required lectures when you’re just starting out, and knowing other ES majors really allows you to feel more at home.

Fun/interesting fact about yourself: I’ve been to the lowest and highest elevations in the contiguous United States: Badwater Basin (-282’) and Mount Whitney (14,505’)!

Favorite part about Notre Dame: Exploring the South Bend area and trying new food places. My current favorites are India Garden and Cloud Walking Coffee!
