Project Title: Exploring the interaction between stream warming and benthic biofilms on the fate and transport of antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) using experimental mesocosms
Career Plans: After graduating from Notre Dame, I plan to pursue research in global health, and continue to serve alongside rural communities through practicing integral ecology and advocating for environmental health initiatives.
Summer Experiences: The summer after my first year I participated in the ND Bridge program through the Institute for Social Concerns serving alongside individuals with disabilities in Toronto, Canada. The summer between my sophomore and junior year, I conducted research in Dr. Tank's biogeochemistry lab through the College of Science Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (COS-SURF). This summer, I will be learning sustainable agricultural practices based on the notions of integral ecology taught at the Bethany Land Institute in Luwero, Uganda through Notre Dame's Institute for Social Concerns Fellowship.
